The Model A is the first in our "Organic" series of amplifiers. It features the same circuitry as our Aviator model which is a 60 watt El-34 powered master volume design. The clean sound is chimey and "liquid" with plenty of high end sparkle, sort of "3D" in character. In moderate overdrive the sound is crunchy yet not harsh with lots of harmonic detail and touch sensitivity, a very "Sweet" sounding crunch. In the upper input (extra 12ax7 gain stage) the sound is fluid and harmonically rich with beautiful overtones and sustain while still retaining the tonality of the lower gain input; think of it like a real tube version of a tube screamer;).
These amps clean up very well with the guitar volume pot with a nice and gradual gain structure. Every guitar we have plugged into this amp performs wonderfully- retaining each guitars unique sonic character at every setting without overbearing amp coloration to blanket the original tone.
This circuit design has evolved much over the last many years to become what we consider to be an extremely versatile and yet unique tube guitar amplifier.
The Model A or "organic" wood series heads (base model)sell for $2800 USD and the matching cab (base model)sells for $1299.
